Happy New Year, friends! 2016 couldn’t have started off on a better note. We finally welcomed our sweet baby boy, Wren…best gift I could ever imagine. AND, I got to photograph Lauren & Cyril get married this past Saturday. I can’t quite put into words how much this wedding, and these people, matter. From start to finish, this day was full of meaningful moments that will stick with me forever. I was fortunate enough to see the first look Lauren shared with her father. For many different reasons, my heart completely cracked open and I’m thankful for the love that poured in over the pain. It absolutely took my breath. The other stand out moment was the group prayer that took place right before the ceremony. Rather than Lauren worrying about wrinkling her gorgeous gown or messing up her makeup, she eagerly chose to sit on the ground surrounded by those they love most and welcome their most sincere prayers. Again, I was left speechless.
After engagement photos last fall, I knew these two were remarkable, both separate and together. I am confident the road ahead of them is even more beautiful because they will walk it together. My world is infinitely better because of this day and my life changing friendship with Lauren. What a gift.
