Creativity as a Spiritual Practice – April 7 at 7:45 pm EST

Together we’ll explore ways to cultivate our own creativity, as well as moving past self-doubt, sharing our passions (or not) and practicing accountability to our creative desires.

We’ll learn more about creativity as a spiritual practice based on research, books and essays, while also defining our own notions of creativity and whether it has the power to connect us to something beyond ourselves.

This course is not religiously affiliated and as ‘secular’ as you want it to be. I spent years running away from religious and spiritual practices until a whole host of creative ‘self-help’ books from the seminal The Artist’s Way to Sue Monk Kidd’s The Dance of the Dissident Daughter, and more, cascaded into my lap and guided me toward a more engaging and open relationship with art making. We’ll taker a closer look at others’ experiences, answer questions on our own terms, and take steps toward a generative and more meaningful relationship with our creativity. Beyond just notions and theoretical concepts, the course will also include practical exercise and rituals to help ground the expansive idea of ‘spiritual creativity’ right back in the real world.
